This Privacy Policy explains how EZ Car Network of Dealerships ("EZ Car," "we," "us," or "our") collects, uses, shares, and protects information about you when you visit www.ez.car (the "Site"), use our services, or interact with us in any way.

By using our Site or services, you agree to the practices described in this Policy. If you do not agree, please do not use the Site.

1.1 Information You Provide Directly

• Vehicle interest information: vehicles you've viewed, saved, or inquired about
• Trade-in information: details about a vehicle you may want to trade, including VIN, year, make, model, mileage, and condition
• Financing information: data submitted as part of a credit application or pre-qualification, including but not limited to Social Security number, date of birth, employment information, and income (collected only when you initiate a financing inquiry)
• Purchase information: details about vehicles you purchase from us
• Service information: details about service appointments and history
• Communications: records of your communications with us, including emails, text messages, chat logs, and phone call summaries

1.2 Information We Collect Automatically

• Device and usage data: IP address, browser type, operating system, referring URLs, pages viewed, time on page
• Cookies and similar technologies: see Section 6 below for details
• Location data: approximate location based on IP address (we do not collect precise GPS data without your consent)
• Analytics: aggregated information about how users interact with the Site

1.3 Information From Third Parties

• Credit bureaus and lenders: when you apply for financing, we may receive credit reports, credit scores, and underwriting decisions
• Vehicle history providers: reports such as Carfax or AutoCheck about vehicles you inquire about or trade in
• Marketing partners: referrals and lead information from third-party automotive marketplaces (e.g., manufacturer sites, listing platforms)
• Service providers: data from CRM, advertising, analytics, and communication platforms we use to operate our business

2. How We Use Your Information

We use the information we collect to:

• Respond to your inquiries and provide customer service
• Show you vehicles, pricing, financing options, and trade-in valuations
• Process credit applications, vehicle purchases, and service appointments
• Communicate with you about your interest, purchase, or service (including via email, phone, and SMS where you have consented)
• Send marketing communications about new inventory, promotions, and events (you may opt out at any time. See Section 8)
• Improve and personalize the Site, our inventory, and our services
• Detect, prevent, and respond to fraud, abuse, security incidents, and unlawful activity
• Comply with legal obligations, including motor-vehicle, financing, tax, and consumer-protection laws
• Enforce our Terms of Service and other agreements

3. How We Share Your Information

We do not sell your personal information for money. We share information in the following limited circumstances:

• Lenders and finance partners: when you submit a credit application, we share your information with one or more lenders to obtain financing offers
• Manufacturers: when required by warranty, recall, incentive, or franchise obligations
• Service providers: CRM, advertising platforms, analytics, payment processors, communication tools, and IT vendors who process information on our behalf under written contracts
• Other dealerships in our network: we may share your information with affiliated EZ Car Network dealerships to fulfill your request (e.g., locating a vehicle at another rooftop)
• WebBuy, our affiliated digital retail platform: when you use the online purchase, trade-in, or pre-qualification flows, information you provide is shared with WebBuy, our sister company with shared ownership and leadership. WebBuy operates as a separate legal entity, and information you submit directly through the WebBuy platform is also governed by WebBuy's own privacy policy.
• Insurance providers: when needed to insure a vehicle you are purchasing or have purchased
• Government and law enforcement: in response to a subpoena, court order, or other lawful request, or to protect rights, property, or safety
• Business transfers: in connection with a merger, acquisition, financing, or sale of assets, in which case the recipient will be bound by this Policy or an equivalent

We may also share aggregated or de-identified information that cannot reasonably be used to identify you.

4. Targeted Advertising and Analytics

We use third-party advertising and analytics providers (including Google, Meta, and similar platforms) to deliver ads about our inventory and services on other websites and to measure the performance of our marketing. These providers may use cookies and similar technologies to collect information about your activity on our Site and other sites.

Some of these activities may be considered "sharing" or "targeted advertising" under certain U.S. state privacy laws. See Section 8 for your rights and how to opt out.

5. Information Security

We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical safeguards designed to protect your information, including encryption in transit, access controls, and vendor due diligence. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

• Functional: to remember preferences such as saved vehicles and location
• Analytics: to understand how visitors use the Site and improve performance

6.1 Consent Decision Audit Trail

When you make a choice on our cookie banner (Accept, Decline, or via Global Privacy Control), we record the decision along with a pseudonymous browser identifier, a truncated IP address (last octet zeroed; sufficient only for state-level geolocation, not individual identification), the page URL where the decision was made, your browser's user-agent string, and the date/time. This audit trail is used solely to demonstrate compliance with privacy laws (including CCPA and CPRA) and is never sold, shared with third parties for marketing, or used to identify you personally. Retention: indefinite, unless you make a verifiable consumer request for deletion.

7. SMS / Text Messaging

If you provide your phone number and consent to receive text messages, you may receive SMS communications about your inquiry, appointment, or marketing offers. Message and data rates may apply. Consent is not a condition of purchase. You can opt out at any time by replying STOP to any message, and you can request help by replying HELP.

8. Your Privacy Rights and Choices

8.1 Marketing Opt-Out

You may opt out of marketing emails by clicking the "unsubscribe" link in any marketing email. You may opt out of marketing texts by replying STOP. You may opt out of marketing phone calls by telling us during the call or contacting us using the information in Section 12.

8.2 State Privacy Rights (CA, CO, CT, VA, UT, and others)

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to:

• Know what personal information we have collected about you
• Access a copy of that information in a portable format
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information, subject to legal exceptions
• Opt out of "sale" or "sharing" of personal information for targeted advertising
• Limit the use of sensitive personal information
• Appeal a denial of a privacy request
• Be free from discrimination for exercising your rights

To exercise these rights, contact us using the information in Section 12. We will verify your identity before responding. You may designate an authorized agent to act on your behalf, subject to verification.

8.3 Do Not Track

Our Site does not currently respond to "Do Not Track" browser signals, but it does honor the Global Privacy Control (GPC) signal as an opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" where required by law.

9. Data Retention

We retain personal information only as long as necessary for the purposes described in this Policy, including to fulfill any legal, accounting, tax, or reporting obligations. Financing records and motor-vehicle transaction records are retained for the period required by applicable federal and state law.

10. Children's Privacy

Our Site and services are not directed to children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us with personal information, please contact us so we can delete it.

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Material changes will be communicated through a notice on the Site or by other reasonable means. Your continued use of the Site after the effective date constitutes acceptance of the updated Policy.
